A Place For You...

My name is Bryson Smith. I’ve been serving as the Pastor with Fieldstone since June 2008. I thought I was going to be a history teacher and not to sound cliché, but these days, I teach a whole new history. And I’m learning a whole lot more than I ever knew I would.
I graduated from Ferrum College in 1998 and earned my Master’s Of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington D.C. in 2002. I’ve committed myself to being a lifelong learner, but will admit sometimes I get tired of reading!
I love seeing people come to know the story of God in a deeper way. It’s there in those moments that God continues the work started long ago. I believe the Holy Spirit is working on us and in us, pressing us to “punch holes in the darkness” every moment we can.
I’ve been married to Lori since 2000 and we have one son named Jackson. He was born in 2003. We enjoy watching movies, taking walks, playing UNO, and making homemade pizza! Actually we enjoy most things!

My name is Erin Johnson and if you know me, you know I’m living the dream. I’m a lifelong resident of Blacksburg and have been involved with Fieldstone almost since the beginning. I’m attending New River Community College Part time with a desire to teach fulltime.
I grew up in the church and was really involved in my youth group as a kid and now I volunteer in leading the student ministries here. I really enjoy hanging out with students and helping them grow in their faith. I also help with the leadership of our young adult group, which is pretty awesome, and I dig the mission of Fieldstone.
Most of the time I’m listening to the Dave Matthews Band and watching reruns of Friday Night Lights!
When you come by Fieldstone be sure to give me a shout in the office!

Judy Job, Lay Pastor
In 2000 Bob and I returned to Christiansburg, where I grew up. We moved after living 23 years in Armonk, N.Y. In July of 2000 we met Lynn Alley-Grant who was starting a new Methodist church. She asked us to be on the planning team for Fieldstone Church.
My pastoral care experience includes: A leadership role in Community Bible Study, Being a Pastoral Care volunteer at a hospital in Mount Kisco, N.Y., and a two-year course in pastoral care.
