Children & Youth
Stepping Stones is our version of Children's Church and Sunday School. During worship, the children will be asked to come to the stage for a brief children's time where they will be able to share a little of their heart & mind. Then they hear a story from the Pastor or someone on the Children's Ministry Team.
Following this time, the children will then be escorted out of the service and into their own worship/learning time. We have 3 age appropriate classrooms, PreK-Kindergarten, 1st-2nd and 3rd-5th. There is one teacher for each classroom and an arts and crafts teacher who rotates through the classes to help with art projects. Each week, the children will learn a bible lesson based on the Live BIG curriculum by Cokesbury through story time, music, crafts and a DVD. On the fourth Sunday of each month, the children will go down to the basement for a time of games and fellowship with each other. We believe that our children should be in fellowship with each other and grow their own community where they can find a comfortable place to be themselves and trust in each other.
Nursery is provided as well for kids 2 and under. We have an indoor playground where they can explore. We also have a Nursery with preschool/infant toys, rocking chairs, baby swings and even a changing table.
The Children's Ministry Team meets once a month to plan family events, discuss the budget and dream up ideas to help the children grow in their relationship with Christ through study, fellowship, mission and service. We encourage anyone to join the team. If you are interested in joining the team or would like to volunteer as a Nursery or Stepping Stones teacher, please contact Dodie Woodard or Lori Smith.
